AUTOBIOGRAPHY

Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, I discovered at a very young age that I had a gift of drawing. Thus, I made art the focus of my education and knew I wanted to devote my life to art.

In 1987, I received a bachelor of fine arts degree from the University of Missouri. After college, I pursued a career in painting portraits and fine art. I did a painting of actor Sylvester Stallone, which he purchased along with 6 others (see Collections and Articles). To add uniqueness to my paintings, I hide the names of the subjects somewhere in the paintings. For example, "SLY" is hidden in all the paintings of Sylvester Stallone, "DUKE" in the John Wayne paintings, "THE KING" in Elvis, etc.

In 1991, I moved to Los Angeles to pursue my painting. I was enticed by the beautiful weather. Since then, I have had numerous gallery showings. In 1995, I became a member of the Malibu Arts Association where they conduct art exhibits. I've had several commissions ranging from pet portraits to murals of Clint Eastwood and Jimi Hendrix which decorate the walls of the Malibu Inn Restaurant in Malibu, California.

I work out of my studio in Studio City, California. I paint whatever inspires me at the moment and I never run out of ideas for a painting. I paint everything from interesting and admirable people to animals, vintage cars and the human figure.
